EVEREST by FIC is a system for customers who want to produce chilled water at +1°C through ice accumulation. This system is particularly suitable when chilled water is used less than 10-12 hours daily, or when there is a heavy usage required over just a few hours. EVEREST is made of a completely separate inner tank with covers which can be opened and kept isolated and inner cooling coils which correspond to PED 2014/68/EU certifications. Both the tank and the cooling coils can be made from zinc-plated steel or stainless steel. The tank is filled with mains water and the exchanger is fed with a refrigerant (freon, ammonia, glycol or CO2). Over a predetermined amount of time, an ice covering forms over the cooling coils up to a set thickness which is controlled by the special ice thermostats. Once the ice accumulation has occurred, the tank is continuously fed with a flow of water which is cooled to a constant temperature (+1°C) through contact with the ice, and then released for use. The efficiency of the melting is guaranteed by a special stirring blower system and an air distribution system which allows a particularly quick melting time. The system can be supplied with or without a refrigeration unit. The accumulation capacity ranges from 38,000 kCal to more than 2,000,000 kCal. EVEREST is typically used within the dairy, food, beer, meat, fish, fruit and vegetable industries.
